Transitioning your Skincare Routine from Winter to Spring
During the winter months, your skin can become quite dry due to the drop of weather and salt in the air. Especially if you live in a harsh winter city like Chicago or New York.
To combat that, we recommend natural ingredients such as shea butter, cocoa butter, goat milk soap, avocado oil, vitamin E, and honey. These natural ingredients have healthy fatty acids and oils that penetrate through the epidermis to the dermis layer of the skin. It helps the skin stay oiled and moisturized throughout the day and fight against acne, wrinkles, and scarring.
As we transition our skin over to the springtime we can now use lighter, refreshing ingredients such as peppermint, eucalyptus, lavender, lemon oils. These oils will help with transitioning from the dense protecting oils that we used to preserve our skin in the winter. Also, mint and citrus oils help unclog the skin, allowing it to breathe again.
We also recommend exfoliating, too. We've found ground cinnamon to be an excellent all-natural way to exfoliate the skin- removing old dead cells and making room for new skin cells. After exfoliating, I also suggest incorporating a rosewater mist for the springtime. The antioxidants in rosewater protect the skin cells against damage caused by pollutants and UV rays. The same antioxidants can be used for an anti-aging effect. Thus reducing the appearance of wrinkles at the same time moisturizing the skin and leaving the skin fresh as supple.
